In India all the religions are accepted and people live together with peace and harmony where all the festivals are also celebrated. Due to this specification after small duration festivals of different religions are take place. So, it is like every day a festival and celebrartion in this country. Here is the list of top festivals of India. Diwali The Grand festival of lights. This festival marks the return of Lord Rama, along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, after a long exile of 14 years. In this festival homes are decorated with fancy lights, candles and clay lamps, and fireworks and crackers. Holi The vibrant festival of ccolours. It signifies the victory of Prince Prahlad over Holika (basically victory of good vrs evil) and also it shows the arrival of spring. Bonfire is carried out in villages, people play with different colors, and people dance and drink bhang/thandai. Dussehra Witness the triumph of Good over Evil. This festival celebrates the death of the demon king Ravana at the hands of Lord Rama. Markets are decorated in this festival. Ram-Leela acts are normally done in the societies. On the final day, the burning of effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhakaran is carried out in the open. Navratri The nine days of fasting, faith and devotion i.e. celebrated in the autumn. It is celebrated on the birthday of Lord Krishna. The Janmashtami Puja takes place on this festival along with tableau of Lord Krishna. Ganesh Chaturthi Eleven days of pampering Lord Ganesha. It is the birthday of Lord Ganesha, the elephant headed God. A beautiful idol is crafted of Lord Ganesha and after that immersion ceremony of the idol takes place. Gurupurab Religious processions & peaceful hymns. It is the celebration of the anniversaries of the ten Sikh Gurus.
