BIGGEST NUMBER OF GIRLS WORE TURBAN, CLICKED SELFIE


Expected to be recorded in Guinness Book of World Records

Safa and turban in dress represents folk culture of Rajasthan. Often you will see Rajasthani man with a long tentacles like moustache wearing safa or turban. On October 5th Birla Auditorium showed a unique view of the city. Rather than man girls wearing turban had been taking selfies. Approximately 600 girls wearing the safa took selfies for setting world record for Guinness Book.

Saffron turbaned school and college girls were giving message of female empowerment to the city. Selfie with Safa program was organized under the Kurjan event held at the Birla Auditorium by All India Welfare Society. The program began around 9 A.M.; till 11 A.M. so many girls participated in the program that the turban fell short. Due to this around 100 girls were deprived from wearing turban.

The organizers believed that no more than 500 girls would come to participate. Girls said, in today’s world where there is talk of women’s empowerment, how can the youth do not reach.

The application to the Guinness Book
For this unique event Kurjan have applied to the Guinness Book. Vikram Singh Arth, secretary of the All India Welfare Society said earlier not many girls have worn turban in big number anywhere than here. Soon it is expected to be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.
